Cross-Disciplinary Social Interactions? What?Great things happen when great minds meet. At the Learning Commons, students and faculty from all disciplines come together. High-tech labs double as smart classrooms, but learning doesn't end when class gets out. Ideas and concepts continue to build and expand. When people meet who have different areas of expertise, both people are transformed. Knowledge is shared and subjects can be seen in a different light. Cross-Disciplinary Social Interactions? Yes!By hanging out at the Learning Commons you get things done, share knowledge and learn something new. Bring your books, bring your projects and bring your teammates. Your brainstorming session could spark the world's greatest idea for a senior project, a new business or a new way of thinking. Labs with the Best Computers and SoftwareThe Learning Commons includes three computer labs a Mac lab and two PC labs. These labs can be used as classrooms or as general-use computer labs. Currently, only the MAC lab and the PC Lab in room 217C are used as classrooms so that the CAD-enabled PC lab in room 217D is always available as a computer lab. With the latest software and the newest equipment, you can be sure to get a high-performance machine with the software that you need. In addition, each lab has two ADA-compliant work stations (one for an instructor and one for a student) that change height to meet special needs.
