About the Learning CommonsThe Learning CommonsThe Learning Commons provides the Cal Poly community with access to a modern collaborative workspace, complete with the latest computer, print and non-print resources as well as expertise in technology, research and faculty development tailored to support Cal Poly's active learning communities. ![]() As part of the Digital Teaching Library initiative, this flexible, multi-use collaborative space on the second floor of the Robert E. Kennedy Library accommodate teaching with technology (including but not limited to smart classrooms), promotes cross-disciplinary social interactions that encourage academic and intellectual pursuits, promotes collaborative projects and creates a sense of community where students and faculty both contribute to and benefit from a knowledge creation and dissemination process. Cross-Disciplinary Social Interactions? Yes!Great things happen when great minds meet. At the Learning Commons, students and faculty from all disciplines come together. High-tech labs double as smart classrooms, but learning doesn't end when class gets out. Ideas and concepts continue to build and expand. When people meet who have different areas of expertise, both people are transformed. Knowledge is shared and subjects can be seen in a different light. |
